PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and inexpensive fixing device having simple constitution, capable of easily controlling the surface temperature of a heating roll without depending on a condition and capable of effectively utilizing limited power. SOLUTION: This fixing device is equipped with 1st and 2nd fixing rotating bodies rotating while press-contacting with each other, an external rotating body rotating while abutting on the surface of the 1st fixing rotating body, a heat source disposed inside the 1st fixing rotating body and an external heat source disposed inside the external rotating body. The device is provided with a temperature detection means for measuring the temperature of the surface of the 1st fixing rotating body and a control means controlling power supplied to the heat source and the external heat source based on the change of the measured result by the temperature detection means after starting fixation.
