PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile terminal capable of processing a double-sided original that prevents a utilizing efficiency of a communication line and a paperwork efficiency at a transmitter side and a receiver side from being deteriorated. SOLUTION: A read section 11 reads image data of a double-sided original sent from a transmitter side and stores the data to an image memory 6. A recording section 12 records the image data on both sides of paper. A double- side print unit of the facsimile terminal at the receiver side declares the transmitter side as to whether the print unit can record data on both sides of paper or only one side of paper through a communication protocol by using a modem 5, an NCU 4 and an external channel 3. Through the declaration above, in the case that the receiver side can record data only on one side of paper, the transmitter side transmits image data for one-side original without stopping the transmission of image data and the receiver side records the image data for the one-side original onto one side of paper.
