Helicopter d.c. starter - generator having mono block magnetic stator with rotor axis weak zone which ruptures if rotor movement is constrained

The d.c. starter - generator has a rotor (1) turning around an axis (2) and stator (3) with magnetic circuit (4). The circuit (4) of the stator is mono block, it has a section on a plane perpendicular to the rotor axis, this section has an exterior square shape having cutouts in it to reduce the weight of the circuit. The circuit is made up of plane magnetic sheets screwed or laser welded together. The starter - generator has shock absorbers (13,18), to absorb shocks in the transmission movement, fitted between the rotor and a receptor connected to the rotor. A weak zone (17) will rupture in case of a high constraint force in the transmission movement between rotor and receptor.
