The invention relates to a rotary piston regulator for regulating the angle of rotation of the camshaft of an internal combustion engine. Said rotary piston regulator comprises an outer rotor with at least one hydraulic chamber and an inner rotor with at least one rotor blade. Said rotor blade can be hydraulically rotated in the hydraulic chamber between a late and an early stop position. The rotary piston regulator is further provided with a locking device adapted to detachably link the outer and the inner rotor. The locking device (8) and the stops (27, 28) are located in an add-on piece (4) that is linked with the rotary piston regulator and whose components are wear-resistant, thereby allowing for the reliability and resistance to wear of the device which is at the same time simple in design.
