Several alphabet strips are slid below a windowed surface so single letters in ajoining strips can be viewed through the window. The strips can be moved by hand, mechanically or electronically and the letters arranged in alphabetical or random order and the device can be incorporated in available computers or calculators. When using an electronic finder, the letters show up through the window according to a given program.
