Rolling teeth on conical gears

The rolling tool is fixed to a spindle performing a translatory movement and arranged at an acute angle with regard to the spindle carrying the workpiece. The synchronised rotation of the spindles is ensured by a pair of conical rolls whose toothed wheels are keyed onto the spindles, and which are put out of gear when the workpiece is being installed or removed. One spindle performs an inclined movement around a joint whose axis is perpendicular to the plane passing through the spindle axis. The movement occurs when the conical synchronisation wheels are disengaged. The latter are changed when the dimensions and shape of the workpiece change.
