Liquid or paste-like cleaning agents with pearly lustre. Agents contain an organic sulphur compound melting above 30 degrees C of formula R1-X-R2 (in which R1 and R2 are 1-26C hydrocarbon gps. (opt. substd.) and X is -S-, -S-S-, -SO-, -SO2- or a polythioether gp of formula - S- (CH2)m n -S-, m being 1 to 24 and n 1 to 8). Preferred substances are 20-25C dialkyl sulphides, disulphides, sulphoxides and sulphones, and 25-50C polythioethers. The pref. amount for obtaining a pearly lustre which will not settle out is 0.01 to 10%, esp. 0.5 to 5%.
