DE-BURRING METHOD AND APPARATUS

The present invention describes a form of blade tip grinder (5) for grinding the tips (6) of turbine or compressor rotors (7). The invention is characterised by the inclusion of a de-burring wheel (10) which is mounted and operated so as to contact the blade tips (6) at the same time as the grinding wheel (9). The invention also describes a method of operating the de-burring wheel (10) to ensure complete and efficient removal of the grinding burrs.
