The invention relates to a heat exchanger comprising superposed, parallel plates which delimit two heat exchanger enclosures. A primary fluid passes through one of said enclosures and a secondary fluid passes through the other. Said fluids circulate in the form of thin alternate layers, fluid entering/exiting by a pair of "main" openings that are made in a end plate, via the entrance and exit channels that extend across the inner plates and communicate with the interstitial spaces making up the corresponding enclosure. According to the invention, the two main openings (30, 61) through which the primary fluid passes are formed in the same end plate, the "upper" plate (300), and are linked by a channel that is pressed into the upper plate (300) and is equipped with a delivery valve (1). The invention has various applications, especially in mixed domestic heating circuits for providing instantaneous hot sanitary water.
