To the solution, hydrochloric acid and stoichiometric amounts of oxidizing agent are added, the adding process being controlled electrometrically and/or according to the pH of the etching solution. The latter can be used to etch copper-laminated, non-ferrous metal and alloy steel objects. Specifically, the voltage between a calomel and a gold electrode immersed in the etching solution is measured continuously and additions are made according to the voltage changes. The etching solution consists of 770 cu. cm. water, 220 cu. cm. technical, concentrated hydrochloric acid and 30 cu. cm. hydrogen peroxide. |
