GAS CYLINDER AND METHOD FOR FILLING THE SAME

The present invention relates to a gas cylinder that comprises a body (1) and a neck (2), wherein a mobile ball-valve (3) is provided inside said body (1). A probe (4) is arranged in the neck and has its flange (5) welded to the end surface (6) of said neck (2). The end of the probe (4) may be slanted or curled. The ball (3) can be made of an elastic resilient material, of an elastic resilient material with a metallic powdered filler or can also be entirely metallic and placed in an elastic and resilient envelope. The method for filling the gas cylinder involves placing a mobile valve in the cylinder body, turning the cylinder upside down with neck in a downward direction and filling the cylinder with a pressurised liquefied gas, reducing the filling pressure while simultaneously closing the neck with the mobile valve, capping the neck with the probe, press-fitting the probe and welding its flange on the end surface of the cylinder neck.
