A postage printing system (10) includes a transport device (200) for feeding an envelope (20) in a path of travel through the postage printing system (10 ), a printer (1) for printing a postal indicia (30) and an ad slogan (50) on th e enveloppe (20), and a control system (300) in operative communication with t he transport device (200) and the printer (100). The control system (300) obtai ns an indication from the operator of a selected print location (40a, 40b, 40c, 40d, 40e, 40f, 42a, 42b, 42c, 42d, 42e, 42f) for the ad slogan (50) and determines if the postal indicia (30) and the ad slogan (50) may be printed in a single pass through the postage printing system (10).
