<p>A gene encoding a novel G protein-coupled receptor protein showing a significant homology with histamine H3 is successfully isolated. The protein encoded by this gene has an activity of binding to histamine and thus changing the intracellular cAMP concentration in response to the stimulus thereof. This G protein-coupled receptor protein is usable as a tool in screening its ligand or in screening a candidate for a drug capable of regulating the signal transduction from this protein.</p> |
