A structure of electrical conductor strips heats up a body permeated by sensor beams. A control device (7) is fed with a motor vehicle's (8) on-board mains voltage from its battery via a control wire. External temperature (TA) and vehicle net speed (VE) are fed from a CAN bus (9) to the control device via control wires. The voltage (UH) needed for controlling performance of electrically conductive strips is determined within the control device by relying on input values.
