A system for recharging the reactor core of a light water cooled nuclear reactor comprises separately transporting the non-radiated fuel rods (FR) and non-radiated structural parts (SP) via an official route into the nuclear power station. The fuel elements of high reactivity necessary for an operational cycle of the power station are predominantly composed of the non-radiated fuel rods and structural parts. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) the use of a servicing device for inspecting radiated fuel elements and for repairing defective fuel elements; (b) a safety container for transporting non-radiated fuel elements; (c) a process for assembling several fuel elements; and (d) a process for recharging a light water cooled nuclear reactor.
