<p>An organic electroluminescence display of passive matrix. Scanning lines extending in the row direction and signal lines extending in the column direction are laid. A pixel is formed in each intersection where a scanning line intersects a signal line by sandwiching an organic electroluminescence layer having an organic luminescent layer between a first pixel electrode composed of one of the scanning lines and a second pixel electrode connected to one of signal lines. Second pixel electrodes are arranged on each scanning line in the direction in which the signal lines extend. As a result, without changing the maximum luminance of the organic luminescent layer and the maximum luminance that the display image is required to exhibit, the resolution can be improved and the screen can be increased.</p> |
