A solid plant growth promoter comprises an anhydrous aggregate containing an oil in water (O/W) wetting agent, biodegradable lipophilic organic compounds and lipophilic carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) compounds. A plant growth promoter in the form of an anhydrous or substantially anhydrous solid agglomerate contains: (a) an ecologically compatible O/W wetting agent; (b) aerobically or anaerobically degradable organic compounds (C donors) with lipophilic saturated and/or olefinically unsaturated fatty hydrocarbon groups; and/or (c) P and/or N compounds with at least partly lipophilic groups and optionally carriers containing plant macro- and/or micronutrients; and optionally (d) additives for plant care and/or protection.
