<p>This invention presents a procedure for identification of the mobile telephony terminals. The manufacturer of the mobile terminal would place a P R O M (non-erasable memory) in each unit and it would program it with an identification code. The code would be transmitted along with the SIM number to the Operator. Should the unit subsequently be stolen, or lost, the owner would advise the operator who would be able to determine who the new user is, thus increasing the likelihood that the stolen unit can be tracked down and recovered.</p> |
