METHOD FOR CONTROLLING COOLING OF HOT ROLLED HIGH CARBON STEEL

PURPOSE: A method for controlling cooling of hot rolled high carbon steel is provided which is capable of micronizing pearlite structure so that a separate facility is not required to be installed by appropriately controlling cooling patterns. CONSTITUTION: In a method cooling hot rolled high carbon steel using a run-out table consisting of a plurality of banks each of which comprises a plurality of headers, the method for controlling cooling of hot rolled high carbon steel comprises the steps of water cooling hot rolled high carbon steel using a plurality of headers of the cooling banks that are positioned at the front part of a cooling zone of the run-out table; and slowly cooling the high carbon steel to the temperature range of 560 to 600 deg.C using some of headers of each of the cooling banks in case that a temperature of the high carbon steel is reached to the temperature range of 660 to 700 deg.C by water cooling.
