ICE PACK WITH EXPANDABLE OPENING

An ice pack generally intended for single patient use includes an elongated bag member defined by opposite side panels. The bag member (12) has a closed end (18) and an open opposite end (20). The open end is used for introducing ice into the bag member by pulling the side panels apart at the open end. A portion of at least one of the side panels generally adjacent to the open end is expandable from a first width defined between sealed (19) edges of the bag member to an increased width so as to provide a greater effective cross-sectional area to the opening in order to aid in filling the ice pack.
