Even when only part of the contents stored in a WWW server or a storage medium is downloaded, the user can read it efficiently. A manual providing device (2) makes a list containing the indexes of the contents to be downloaded in a manual using device (1). The indexes are linked to the corresponding to contents. A folder containing the list and the contents to be downloaded is sent to the manual using device (1).
