New crystallized trioctahedral 2:1 phyllosilicates of stevensite or kerolite type are used in catalyst for conversion of hydrocarbon charge, especially hydrocracking e.g. of diesel oil

New crystallized 2:1 phyllosilicates (I), of the stevensite or kerolite type, have (a) a hydrated half cell containing a small amount of fluorine and a compensation cation, selected from magnesium cations from the reaction medium and group IA, IIA, IIB and VIII element, rare earth cations (atomic number 57-71), ammonium or organo-nitrogen cations introduced by post-synthetic ion exchange; and (b) an x-ray diagram with specified bands and reflection. New crystallized 2:1 phyllosilicates (I), of the stevensite or kerolite type: (a) are of the general formula (for a half cell): Cm+2z/mSi4(Mg3-zoz)O10(OH)2-uFu, nH2O C = a compensation cation, selected (partly) from the magnesium (Mg<2+>) cations from the reaction medium, or cation(s) introduced by post-synthetic ion exchange process(es), selected from cations of group IA, IIA, IIB and VIII element, rare earth cations (atomic number 57-71), ammonium and organic cations containing nitrogen; m = the valency of the cation C; z = more than 0 and less than 1; u = more than 0 and no more than 2; n = a real positive integer and not 0; and o = an octahedral hole; and (b) have an x-ray diagram with a band corresponding to a d060 value of 1.52 /! 0.01 10<-10> m and 2 other bands corresponding to dhkl values of 4.53 /! 0.05 10<-10> and 2.56 /! 0.05 10<-10> m and at least an 001 reflection such that d001 is between 10.1 and 21.5 10<-10> m. Independent claims are also included for (1) the production of (I); (2) catalysts based on (I).
