The method uses an electronic filter to remove the superimposed frequencies. The input signal (U1) is sampled at high frequency (2) to generate a sampled signal (U2) that is stored in a memory (4) in sections. A filter (7) is used to packet filter the signal (U2) with a comparatively low frequency (12) when compared with the original sample frequency (U2). The output signal (U5) is pulse free. An Independent claim is made for a device for measuring a signal on which are superimposed extraneous frequencies. Initial high frequency sampling is at around 1000 Hz, while low frequency sampling for the filtering is at around 100 Hz.
