The invention relates to the use of compounds of formula (I), in particular as activators of PPARs-type receptors, for producing a composition for treating skin disorders such as rosacea, intrinsic (or chronological) ageing, pigmentation disorders, disorders of the sebaceous function, disorders of the barrier function and especially, epidermal lipid secretion disorders, scarring disorders, skin atrophies caused by corticosteroids or ulcers, immune system disorders, cardiovascular disorders and/or lipid metabolism disorders. The invention also relates to a cosmetic treatment method for restoring the barrier function and especially for regulating and/or for restoring the metabolism of skin lipids, characterized in that a composition containing at least one compound of formula (I), especially as an activator of PPARs-type receptors, is applied to the skin.
