Indole derivatives used as analgetic, anti-inflammatory etc. pharmaceuticals. Cpds. of formula:- (where R is lower alkyl, or phenyl opt. substd. by lower alkyl, alkoxy or halogen, R1 and R2 are H, lower alkyl, alkoxy or alkanoyloxy, phenylalkoxy with up to 9C-atoms, fluorine, chlorine or bromine, or combined the methylene dioxide group, A is alkylene with not more than 4C-atoms, R3 and R4 are each lower alkyl or, as -NR3R4, a pyrrolidino-, piperidino-, hexamethyleneimino-, morpholino-, lower dialkylmorpholino-, or tetrahydropyridino group) are prepared by reacting an indole deriv. of formula:- with cpd. of formula:- (where X and Y react with one another forming ether bridge between A and pyrrole ring).
