Disclosed is a micro-titer plate and a method for making it comprising the steps of: providing an array of a plurality of sample containers connected to each other (10) and each having a bottom wall (20) with an outlet opening (22) and an opposite inlet opening (16); providing a filter sheet (1) having preformed therein a plurality of filter means (28) for insertion in said plurality of sample containers (10); positioning the filter sheet (1) such that said plurality of filter means (28) are in register with the inlet openings (16) of said sample containers (10); separating each of said plurality of filter means (28) from said sheet (1) and placing each of said filter means (28) in the sample container (10) with which it registers such that the filter means (28) abuts the bottom wall (20) and side walls (12) of the sample container (10).
