The drum for cleaning feathers etc. for mattresses and bedding, has a filling and discharge system which operates by using air pressure inside the drum. The perforated drum (2) rotates about a horizontal axis, and supply and discharge tubes (18, 19) are connected to the centre of a plate (11) over the front of the casing. A tube (11) at the rear connects the interior of the drum to a fan (7) to give a blowing or sucking action inside. A hole (14) through the front of the drum is covered by a rubber sheet which forms a seal. A slider over the pressure adn suction outlets (8, 9) is connected to a handle (10) to control the output of the fan. Another handle is connected to another sliding flap (17) to control the supply and discharge tubes. |
