An automatic ticket gate adapted to test the validity of an inserted ticket is characterized by means preventing operation of the gate until the ticket is removed from the gate by the passenger. The ticket gate is substantially as described in Specification 1,198,718 together with the illustrated circuit arrangement. A validity signal A 2 sets flip-flop 31 and the set output is applied to AND gate 32. A signal A 1 generated when the ticket is removed from the ticket gate is applied to the second input of the AND gate 32, which fires to set flip-flop 34. Signal A 4 energizes a solenoid to withdraw a pawl unlocking the ticket gate. A switch operated by movement of the gate or, a photoelectric cell detecting movement of a passenger through the ticket gate, generates a signal A 3 to reset the flip-flop 34. NOT gate 35 resets the flip-flop 31 when signal A 1 disappears. In a modification the output from AND gate 32 is applied through a time delay to reset the flip-flop 34. |
