<p>Novel alkyd resins prepn. Method comprises reacting (1) unsatd. polybasic acid modified aromatic hydrocarbon resin, (2) polybasic acid and (3) an alcoholysis product of fatty oil (b) with polyol (a), (1) being an adduct resin of high softening point aromatic hydrocarbon resin (e) with unsatd. polybasic acid or its anhydride (d), (e) being obtained by polymerizing hydrocarbon oil having a boiling range of 140 to 280 degrees C or a mixture of the oil with indene or alkyl indene. Resins produced have a high drying rate, film hardness and excellent light and chemical resistance.</p> |
