PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for inexpensively partly processing a discharge opening form face to be water repellent in a simple process without requiring an expansive apparatus and a complicate process as in the prior art to prevent a printing quality from being impaired because of the absence of discharging ink liquid drops and a 'deviation' in a discharge/flight direction of ink liquid drops due to the adhesion of ink to the periphery of an ink discharge opening 8 of a recording head in an ink-jet printer. SOLUTION: At least a non-surface process part excluding a part of the discharge opening 8 of a material of properties to be set by an active energy line is set. Then a surface-processing agent 5 of a water repellency to be set by the active energy line is applied. The processed part is set by the active energy line. At the same time, the material of the discharge opening 8 and the surface-treatment agent 5 are simultaneously batch patterned.
