PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device having an image producing unit storing a photosensitive member, a light source means and a driving circuit therefor, and a light irradiation means, mounted detachably, with a good recycling property. SOLUTION: An image forming device 200 has an image producing unit 205 mounted and inserted detachably such that a connector 231 of the image producing unit 205 is connected automatically with a connector 241 of the image forming device 200 according to the insertion of the image producing unit 205. The image producing unit 205 comprises a photosensitive drum 213, a charge roller 214, a polygon mirror 217, a motor roller 217, a scanning lens 215, and a printed board 222, supported between easily separatable main body upper case 210 and main body lower case 211, with a semiconductor laser and a lens holder attached on the printed board 222. A toner case 212 storing a toner 224 is mounted on the lower surface of the main body lower case 211 as well as a developing roller 223 is mounted in the state supported between the toner case 212 and the main body lower case 211 so as to improve the recycling property.
