CARBONIZED POLYMER MATERIAL AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel carbonized polymer material the material design of which is possible on a molecular level and which can be adaptable to various applications. SOLUTION: This carbonized polymer material is obtained by baking and carbonizing a polymer compound having repeating units, each repeating unit having one or more ethynylene groups bonded to an optionally substituted arylene group. The main chain of the polymer compound is a poly(arylene- alt-(oligo)ethynylene) chain, which is carbonized in a high yield.
