PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel graft polymerized functional polyurethane comprising a high molecular compound prepared by bonding functional monomers to a polyurethane as a main chain by graft polymerization, having not only the properties of the polyurethane but also those of the side chain block polymers introduced by the graft polymerization which include hydrophilicity, lipophilicity, water repellency, and water and oil repellency depending on the functional monomers for preparing the side chains. SOLUTION: (1) One or more diols having one or more intramolecular double bonds are reacted with (2) the other diols for functionally modifying the properties of a main chain and (3) diisocyanate to synthesize a polyurethane. The functional monomers having vinyl groups for the side chains are bonded to the polyurethane for the main chain by graft polymerization.
