1300971 Ethylene oxide CHEMISCHE WERKE HULS AG 30 Jan 1970 [31 Jan 1969] 4549/70 Heading C2C [Also in Division B1] Ethylene oxide is produced by oxidizing ethylene with molecular oxygen over a supported silver catalyst which has been formed by mixing a porous carrier material with an aqueous suspension of silver oxide, subjecting to a reduced pressure then reducing the silver oxide to the metal (see Division B1). The oxidation process suitably takes place at 240‹ to 330‹ C. under pressure. Specific examples of the operation of the process are described. |
