PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative thermal expandable glass ceramic having a sufficiently large absolute negative thermal expansion coefficient in -40 deg.C to +160 deg.C, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This negative thermal expandable glass ceramic, characterized in that a thermal expansion coefficient is -25 to -100×10-7/ deg.C in a temperature range of -40 to +160 deg.C, in that the main crystal phase comprises one or more materials selected fromβ-eucryptite solid solution (β-Li2O.Al2O3.2SiO2 solid solution),β-eucryptite (β-Li2O.Al2O3.2SiO2) andβ-quartz (β-SiO2), and further preferably in that the total crystal amount of the main crystal phase is 70 to 100 wt.%. |
