PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an estimating device for a catalyst temperature to be further provided with a catalyst temperature calculation parameter during a stop of idling of an internal combustion engine and perform estimation of a catalyst temperature even during a stop of idling of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: It is decided whether an internal combustion engine is operated or stopped. When it is decided that an internal combustion engine is stopped, the temperature of a catalyst is estimated based on a temperature factor during a stop being a temperature factor during a stop of the internal combustion engine. As noted above, by estimating a catalyst temperature even during a stop of idling, even when restarting is effected from a stop of idling, an accurate catalyst temperature is capable of being estimated.
