PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control valve capable of directly controlling the discharge capacity of a variable displacement compressor over a wide range, which is excellent in capacity controllability especially near the minimum discharge capacity. SOLUTION: This control valve is provided with a valve chest 46 constituting a part of a valve inner passage, an operating rod 40 with a valve element 43 disposed in the passage, and a movable wall 54 sensitive to a differential pressure (PdH-PdL) between two pressure monitoring points P1, P2 set in a refrigerant circulating circuit. The differential pressure as the primary pressure is applied in the direction of pushing down the operating rod 40, and the pressure (PdL-Pc) as the secondary pressure is further applied in the same direction to the operating rod 40. Electromagnetic force F generated by a solenoid part 100 urges the operating rod 40 upward. The operating rod 40 (the valve element part 43) is positioned, that is, the valve opening is controlled mainly by balance between the combined action of the primary pressure and the secondary pressure and the electromagnetic urging force F, so that the discharge capacity of the compressor is controlled. |
