<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely restrain increase of sliding resistance at the time of rotation driving of a nozzle vane while restraining reduction in efficiency of a turbocharger. SOLUTION: This turbocharger 10 comprises a variable nozzle 24 which varies an effective sectional area of a channel between a scroll chamber 20 and a turbine wheel chamber 22. The variable nozzle 24 is constituted by a plurality of blade-shape nozzle vanes 50 which are arranged at equal intervals on an outer periphery of a turbine wheel 26 and driven by rotating with a vane shaft 54 as a center. In each of the nozzle vanes 50, an end in a direction perpendicular to an axial direction of a vane shaft 54 is formed such that a width in the axial direction is reduced in comparison with a central part. A clearance between an end in an axial direction of each of the nozzle vane 50 and an inner wall of a turbine housing 12 and a clearance between each of the nozzle vanes 50 and an inner wall of a bearing housing 16 are formed so as to gradually increase toward a tip in a longitudinal direction of each of the nozzle vanes 50 and gradually decrease toward the vane shaft 54.</p> |
