PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily connect an operating rod to a kick rod and to reduce a cost by reducing the number of necessary members in a drain plug device of such a type that swing the kick rod is swung by pushing and pulling the operating rod so as to open and close a drain plug. SOLUTION: A torsion coil spring formed by bending a metal wire is used as a connection device 38 for connecting an operating rod 36 to a kick rod 30. The connection device 38 comprises (a) an intermediate first insert part 40 formed in coil-shape and for inserting the kick rod 30 therein, (b) a pair of elastic arms 42 extended from the first insert part 40 so as to form a truncated chevron shape, and (c) a second insert part 46 for inserting the operating rod 36 provided on the elastic arm 42 in a form of the metal wire wound up. The pair of elastic arms 42 become the energized state, each other, to an open side with the operating rod 36 inserted into the second insert part 46, and the force of the spring affects the operating rod 36 to fix the rod 36 to the rod 30 by the force.
