METHOD FOR PRODUCING LITHIUM COBALTATE FOR LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing lithium cobaltate having uniform particle diameter and small scattering of Li/Co ratio and suitable for a lithium secondary battery. SOLUTION: A powdery lithium salt and a powdery cobalt salt are kneaded together with a binder and extrusion molded. The molded product is baked at 900-1,000 deg.C in an air stream. The extrusion-molded product preferably has a diameter of <=5 mm and the mixing ratio of the lithium salt to the cobalt salt is preferably 0.98-1.02 in terms of Li/Co molar ratio.
