PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein a solid matter created by reaction of ink with a treatment liquid is stuck to a portion in the vicinity of a nozzle or enters a print head so that an ejection direction of the ink or treatment liquid may be shifted or defective ejection thereof may be created, thereby obtaining a high quality image. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus comprises a head recovery section 16 for improving the ejecting condition of the ink and treatment liquid from the nozzle, a heat count section 38 for respectively counting the number of times of ejecting of each of the ink and treatment liquid ejected from the nozzle to a print medium, a print duty calculating section 46 for respectively calculating each print duty for the liquid ejection head based on the ejection times of the ink and treatment liquid, and a setting section 47 for respectively setting preliminary ejection quantities of the ink and treatment liquid which are preliminarily ejected from the nozzle by the head recovery section 16 based on the print duties of the liquid ejection head and ejection times of the ink and treatment liquid ejected from the liquid ejection head. |
