PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drain device capable of discharging dirt accumulated at the bottom of a bathtub with an inexpensive and simple structure and by an easy operation. SOLUTION: This drain device comprises a holed plug 3 for closing a drain port 11 in the bathtub 1 and a flexible tubular member 2 connected to the holed plug. Bathtub water can be purified by removing a stop plug with water filled in the bathtub, installing a holed plug 3 instead of the stop plug, dipping a tubular part 2 in water and venting air from the tubular part 2 so as to lead water therein, and then lowering the tubular part 2 on a bottom surface 12a to apply a hydraulic pressure equivalent to the depth of water in the bathtub to the other end 23 so as to force the water on the bottom surface into the tubular part 2 to discharge water from an drain port 11.
