PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic elastomer which can be stably obtained in the presence of oxygen or water and can be molded into minute shapes and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This thermoplastic elastomer is obtained from at least two metathesis-polymerizable, copolymerizable monomers and a metathesis polymerization catalyst represented by formula A or B. Preferably, one of the metathesis- polymerizable monomers is a norbornene derivative having at least one double bond; and the other is a cycloalkene derivative, the equivalent ratio of the norbornene derivative to the cycloalkene derivative being preferably (10/90)-(90/10). When molded, the mixture of the metathesis-polymerizable monomers with the catalyst preferably has a viscosity (at 23 deg.C) of 0.3 Pa.s or lower.
