PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a package from being caught by joints of forming dies. SOLUTION: In a package forming apparatus 1 to press the package 101 from its periphery by the forming dies 3, 5 and 7 to form the package into a predetermined shape, shielding members 31 and 33 are disposed between the joints 27 and 29 of the forming dies 3, 5 and 7 and the package 101, and when protruded portions 135 and 137 are generated in the package 101, these protruded portions are prevented from being held by the joints 27 and 29.
