PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material capable of providing a molding product having wholly excellent static strength in a normal-temperature and high-temperature atmospheres, rigidity in a high-temperature atmosphere, long-term heat resis tance, brake fluid resistance without impairing abrasion resistance in comparison with a conventional phenol molding material, suitable for a brake piston for a disk brake in stead of ceramic and metal which have been conventionally used. SOLUTION: This phenol resin molding material comprises (a) a high- molecular weight novolak phenol resin having >=50,000 weight-average molecular weight when a polystyrene is used as a reference substance, (b) a resol type phenol resin having <50,000 weight-average molecular weight when a polystyrene is used as a reference substance, (c) an inorganic filler and/or an organic filler and (d) a curing catalyst as essential components.
