Multilayer upholstery material

Material is made by high frequency welding, and consists of a decorative layer, flexible foam layer and a textile material underlay. The layers are joined by weld seams. The material is used especially for motor car upholstery. The welding tool has rack form which produces welds at intervals. Foam plastics are specially treated for welding purposes. The welds alternate with raised parts of nonwelded material which prevent formation of sharp kinks in the material and consequent wear.
