PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tail stock of a machine tool capable of easily and certainly arranging a center against a main spindle coaxially. SOLUTION: This tail stock 10 constituted of a base 12 to be moved along a guide 94 of a bed 91 and a main body 14 to install a center 24 is furnished with a core height adjusting means arranging an eccentric ram shaft 22 forming a center loading hole 22A at an eccentric position on a housing 20 of the main body 14 free to rotate and a longitudinal adjusting means to energize the main body 14 horizontally and in the orthogonal direction against a shaft center of the center by interposing an elastic body 16 between the main body 14 and the base and making an adjusting bolt contact with the other of the base and the main body by screwing the adjusting bolt 18 in one of the base and the main body.
