PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding bearing device capable of obtaining stable damping performance without being completely affected or with being hardly affected by the magnitude of load. SOLUTION: When in no load, a sliding bearing member 1 is separated from a smoothed plate 3 by distance (d), and a sliding bearing member 2 comes in contact with the smoothed plate 3. When a load P is applied, the bearing member 1 also comes in contact with the smoothed plate 3, and a load Pc obtained by multiplying elastic modulus (k) of an elastic body 4 by displacement (d) is added to the bearing member 2. While the bearing member 1 comes in contact with the smoothed plate 3, since the distance (d) is constant, the load Pc being applied to the bearing member 2 is constant independent of the magnitude of the load P, and the bearing member 2 generates a constant friction force (damping) F2. By making the friction factor of the first bearing member 1 substantially smaller than the friction coefficient of the second bearing member 2, the total friction force always becomes almost the same as the friction force F2.
