PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge treatment method which includes a stage for thickening the solids in sludge, stably subjects the SS components in the sludge under anaerobic conditions and enhances the flocculating performance and dehydrating performance of the sludge subjected to floatation thickening and separating. SOLUTION: The sludge treatment method for subjecting the organic sludge to thickening, flocculating, dehydrating, etc., comprises placing the sludge under the anaerobic conditions, adding an acidic solution thereto and subjecting the sludge to floatation, then subjecting the liquid containing the separated sludge to a dehydration treatment by a reduced pressure treatment. This reduced pressure treatment is executed by bringing the liquid into collision against the wall surface of a vacuum vessel by the centrifugal force of blind sieving bodies rotating within this vacuum vessel.
