PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing soil amendments containing A type humic acid and contributing to the suppression of the generation of carbon dioxide regarded as a main cause for global warming or the amount emitted into the atmosphere by effectively utilizing a coal ash and a method for efficiently producing the soil improving material containing the A type humic acid in the shortest possible period. SOLUTION: This method for producing humic acid-based soil amendments comprises adding and mixing a coal ash regulated to a pH value 4-6 with an organic carbon source, adding water to the resultant mixture, subjecting the mixture to thermochemical reaction under temperature conditions of >=90 deg.C and converting the mixture into a humic acid-based material. The carbon source in the above method has preferably a mixing ratio of the coal ash to the carbon source within the range of (1:5) to (5:1) (weight ratio) and the mixture is preferably subjected to the thermochemical reaction at a pH value within the range of 3-8. |
